As a Perspectives student my freshman year, I was required to take a Computer Applications class. In that class, we learned how to use Google Suite Applications such as Google Docs, Gmail, and Google Sheets and Google Slides. My sophomore year of computer class was Adobe Photoshop. We had two ways of learning this application: reading and trial and error. We used MSI Courseware to understand the tools, but the real learning came from creating projects that required us to use those tools. In my junior year of computer class, I was introduced to Adobe Illustrator. I prefer the way Adobe Photoshop runs and looks, but I also like the way that Adobe Illustrator’s tools work. I think that graphic design is a useful skill to have, even if I choose not to use it in my future career.
