In partnering with Perspectives Leadership Academy, we work with 9th - 12th graders teaching the Google Suites platform, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and Python. In addition to being given the opportunity to create graphic design projects using the Photoshop, Illustrator and Google Suites platforms, our scholars are also able to become certified in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
I've learned a lot, and enhanced my style in creativity, in my 2 years of using Adobe Applications. If I had to choose which application I like best from the Adobe Suite Applications, I would choose Adobe Illustrator because it's easier to use for editing images and photos. I also like Adobe Photoshop because it offers more options when applying effects to an object.
As a Perspectives student my sophomore year of computer class was Adobe Photoshop. In my junior year of computer class, I was introduced to Adobe Illustrator. I prefer the way Adobe Photoshop runs and looks, but I also like the way that Adobe Illustrator’s tools work. I think that graphic design is a useful skill to have, even if I choose not to use it in my future career.
My technology journey started when I was introduced to the Google Suites Applications during my freshman year. During my sophomore year, we created images with shapes and edited photos using the Adobe Photoshop platform. Currently, I am creating projects using only shapes, within the Adobe Illustrator platform.
When I first began working in Adobe Photoshop, I thought it was cool because I got to try out new things and test out my creativity. When I started Adobe Illustrator, it wasn’t hard for me, but interesting. It made me have to think more, rather than put things together. My favorite program to work with is Adobe Illustrator because I have more creative control over what I’m doing.
As Graphic Design was a new class for me, I usually tried to do things simply. That was until I started to enjoy using Adobe Applications. I am someone who enjoys art and illustration, so the possibility to create in the Adobe Suite Applications was a revelation! My most recent and favorite program is Adobe Illustrator. It's the most enjoyable application to experiment with once you figure out what you're doing.
On my journey of using Adobe Suites Applications, I've learned a lot within the two years of attending Perspectives Charter School. From restoring black & white photos and colored photos with the Adobe Photoshop platform, to creating a children's book in Adobe Illustrator! My personal favorite platform is Adobe Photoshop because I get to combine photos and use tools to make my imagination come to life.
